My dad and his helm Meret participated in the Imperia Winter Regatta this December and dragged all his family along. My brother Niklas and I had our optimists “on board” and we really enjoyed riding the pretty big waves in around ten knots.
I was quite impressed by the huge yachts that were lying in the marina and I really enjoyed sailing my father’s 470. I am not sure, however, how much my opti substitute Meret liked sailing my optimist back home, though ;-).
We also visited Monaco where we had a look at even bigger and luxurious yachts. I am looking forward to sail the Imperia Winter Regatta in some years in the 420 and with my teammate, friend and future sailing partner Nik 🙂 🙂 :-).
